The Ocean Raiders game board has been designed with a lot of thought and care. The numbers are not randomly strewn around. Instead they are carefully placed after a lot of testing. This systematic numbers arrangement induces more math practice, helps with game’s visual progression, and also optimizes time.

The 10 faced dice is there for a reason

For Ocean Raiders, we wanted to focus on addition of 1 digit numbers to 2 digit number. Since we wanted to cover all the 1 digit numbers from 0 to 9, so we used a 10 faced dice. In fact, for an advanced version of this game, Mountain Raiders, we used a 20 faced dice too.

My daughter home schools does not do well with the typical classroom style of learning. She has sensory processing disorder and I would dare say that if anyone ever actually pursued it, she would likely be diagnosed with ADHD as well. This game makes addition and subtraction fun for her. Gameplay is pretty easy to understand. She has had a lot of fun with this so I would say that this is a big thumbs up from her as well!

This game is so much fun! My first graders loved the graphics and how simple the game was. The rules are basic so kids can fully focus on the task of problem solving. After purchasing the product the game designers updated the instruction sheet. They emailed me the updated version and said to forward it along to others I know who may have the game!
